Whats not working in America: The Media

The Zero Hour was a radio broadcast by one of eight women who were known as Tokyo Rose in the South Pacific during World War II. Tokyo Rose would warn of impending attacks that never took place, discuss US and Allied service men's longing for home and comfort and sometimes even convince our troops that back home their wives-girlfriends were off cheating on them in bars with the 4F men who couldn't be drafted. All of this was done to disrupt the US and Allied troops, and it was called Propaganda. More and more US political coverage seems to take the Tokyo Rose method of propagandational reporting.

Today we see press covering the White House during a time of crisis and returning stories headlined "Obama's first 50 days a wild ride" as an example. Whatever happened to the press asking the hard questions? What ever happen to real down and dirty political reports where politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Harry Reid actually had to respond? Isn't the press supposed to get the answers that we the readers want to know?

We have a new White House press secretary who seems to think he's been named as Jay Leno's replacement. We have dozens of responses from the president himself that could easily be recorded and played back offering no information on the state of his decisions. Why he continually goes back on the promises made during the campaign. We still don't even have the big plan let alone the small steps needed to get there people.

We have real newspapers going broke, and virtual newspapers picking out what slant they want people to see. We have CNN and MSNBC who often seem cavalier in presenting their own political beliefs rather than the facts impervious to their posturing. Fox News and Lou Dobbs ask questions that are relevant and get treated as though they've done the unspeakable. Save the Faux new comments I've heard them before and all I can say is at least they are asking; rather than worrying about when and what kind of dog the first family will adopt.

I just want an unbiased story straight up and let me decide, anyone else feel that way? I just want someone to ask the hard questions again?
